We are on the road.
Remembering a great week with friends.
Both of learned a lot.

Northbound to Stroud we were just passed by another coach and toad but we get passed a lot. We lost sight of Dan and Teri long before we turned north to get to I-44. Mary likes to run more slowly than most. I don't care as long as we get some good sleep time in the casino parking lot at East St. Louis. That is the planned EOD as it is a nice half way point and quite affordable.

Man, This is a great way to see the country. Being able to surf and read the forum while Mary drives just makes it better.

We are about to get off 69 at Adair onto 28 and head east.
What a fun convention

When you reached the "T" at Langley, you were just a
mile from the world's longest multiple arch concrete
dam, known as the Pensacola Dam. It holds back the
Grand Lake o'er the Cherokees which winds some 66
miles through the Ozark foothills. When you passed
the turnoff to Ketchum, we had our boat about 5 miles
east of that turn.

Safe travels home, Dan.

BTW, Judy found my missing reading glasses in a heavy
shirt that I had worn early one cool morning but then
left in the coach!

A marvelous week, and we both learned a lot about our
"Money Pit" (Judy refers to it as the MONEY PIG!).

Kathy and I got going at about 8:30, with Marc and Puck Hogenboom right behind us. We lost Marc in OK City and he called us while we were topping off the tanks about 5 miles down the road. He had his alternator pulley (the guys at the parts house didn't put it on tight on a new alternator he just replaced) come loose. He said he was going to be able to make repairs with Hal Kading's help, who was a few miles behind him.

We saw two GMCs heading east between OK City and Amarillo. I guess they didn't know about the rally or it just didn't work into their schedule. We gassed up in Amarillo and went on to Vega TX. where we will spend the night. Pics on FB. Other than fighting a gusty cross wind across the TX Panhandle, we have had absolutely no issues in over 1200 miles.

Get those GMCs out and use them!!!

Have a safe trip, Carl and Kathy!

Sure glad that the severe weather that popped up in NW
Oklahoma yesterday petered out before coming our way!

Sorry to hear of Marc's problem(s). I know the feeling!

We passed two along I-44. Mary was driving and I was finding cheap fuel and not watching the road ahead. One was the Greatlaker with a dolphin motif. I hoping they both got things handled because we were a mile downrange before I could react.

We were also passed by - maybe - a half dozen more. At ~60 we can squeeze ~9 and I am still working on making Bowling Green and maybe Bean Station.. Maybe Maybe....

Ok, I was wondering about yall. We bypassed the toll road, up 69, over 28, up u2, then right on 60. Was a scenic route. When we got to Springfield the GMC sped up. Was hard to hold it below 70 the last 200 miles. Kind a like a horse heading for the barn I guess. Let us know how Sunday goes Matt.

I talked with Ken B about 630 pm. He told me about the Greatlaker on side of the road. He stopped to help but they thought it was the fuel boiling so planned to wait til dark and then cut a trail. Just checked Ken on the tracker and he is almost to Cuba, Mo. Said he hoped he could make it to Sullivan before parking for the night.
What a great time seeing everyone.

As of 8:54, Ken was just east of St James.
No movement shown since then. I suspect he
may have stopped there.

We are also "homeward" bound. (Just need to pick up our towd in AZ first.) Currently stopped for the night in Sweetwater TX after a unsuccessful search of the Dallas Pick-n-Pulls for the parts I need for my towd. If it goes as planned, we'll go by your house a few hours before you get home. (or the general area anyway...)

Sorry to hear about Marc's problems. After spending the entire rally looking for (and fixing) an oil leak, it seems he has had more than his share of "bad luck" lately. (And Puck isn't very happy with the coach.)

OBTW: Spray foot powder is VERY helpful to find oil leaks. Thanks to whom ever it was that suggested it.

Women tend to be like that Crying or Very Sad .

We called them on the phone last night and they were at a rest area along I-40. We caught up with them early this morning at said rest area, but their curtains were closed and there were no lights on, so I didn't bother them. Marc seemed confident that they would make it home.

I talked to Marc this evening. We helped him get the alternator pulley tightened in OKC, then the starter acted up. Marc was able to get it realigned and started with a jump from us. This took place in a Chinese restaurant parking lot.

Drove to the exit just before the 16 vehicle pile-up near the Oklahoma border (I-40) for a break. Starter apparently shifted so Marc worked for an hour or so without success. Finally secured the Bendix spline extended and was able to get the starter aligned and working. We went on ahead after they refueled. They made it to the NM/Texas border Sat evening where Carl saw their coach. The Diesel started fine this morning and they made it home OK. Stil leaking oil but not as bad as before.

Our trip home was uneventful.

I'm home. You are correct I spent the night at Camp Walmart in Sullivan. I saw for the first time over head barriers to keep the trucks out. I went inside, bought some stuff, and I talked to the manager. She said RVs are always welcome. They had problems with trucks and had the barriers installed. She also said there was one rear entrance for over height RVs. Sure enough the very tall RV showed up and could not clear the 11 foot barrier. I told him about the rear entrance and a few minutes later I saw him also parked inside.

I also saw the barriers installed in the bank parking lot across the street and a semi parked next to a sign on the street that said "NO TRUCK PARKING". So they must be having real problems with trucks in Sullivan.

Low pressure feed pump to High pressure pump was not working, rewired
it to run off the ignition switch and everything was good. With the
junk fuels of today and easy vapor lock issues this LP pump provides 8
psig pressure to the HP pump. That is how my MPFI works.
