I wanted a ice machine for awhile now. Maybe someone wants one as well. If so I did a lot of research for one and tried to find one that drew the smallest amperage since someone stole I mean bought my Onan. I also wanted it to have a draw instead of flip top so I can put it below the sink. I found the Sunpentown IM20B. Low amp draw, and the draw. $1.00 shipping from Overstock.com

LOL- Everyone in our family is a ice-a-holic. We only have the little frig which works terrific, but squeezing a bag of ice in takes a good bit of room in the freezer section. There are a lot of them on the market, but most draw 300-400 watts. I wanted the minimum. Perhaps theres some that draw less, but 140 watts I'm pleased with. I don't plan on keeping it on 24/7 just when we need it. I may run it on its own inverter however I'll have to check how I want to wire it in.

I had one with the typical flip up lid. It worked great for a couple of years before something crapped out in the gear mechanism. I just threw it out since I'm not finding the time to repair it. I like the looks of this one.

I'll let you know how it works out once I get it. If it works well I may buy a better one for our house. We go through more ice then a iceberg in a week.
Today I FINALLY got my solar system up and running. During "storage" time I'll only have (1) 100W panel exposed to the sun to keep everything topped off. It was a thing of beauty finally seeing the little red light turn on my MPPT Diversion Controller for the first time. I have a few loose ends to shape up but yeaaaa but and running Smile
