I have removed the onan and can actually get 4 trojans in the space left. But would rather have 2 in front and 2 in the rear.
I am confused as to the 'balance' discussed as to the resistance of the connecting cables. Can anybody help?

Peter, if you do mount 2 in rear and two in front, try to "tap" the hot wire about midways between them. Or, you can run two seperate systems, as many do. Run tv and stuff off one set and other equipment or house lights off the other set. If you don't tie into the wire midways with your charger and the "draws" on your system will be imbalanced and won't work as efficiently as you might want. Charge and discharge of batteries won't be even.
I have all 4 of mine in front. They are not as evenly "tapped" as I would like but close enough.
Hope this helps a little.

Peter,

You have to get the article from the recent FMCA mag. Contact Byron Songer and have him send you a cleaned up copy and digest it all before you do anything rash.

I am out of time, light and patience (my wife's dog ran off last night and we may have to depart without). This is not good.

So, I will be brief (you can ask questions later, but I will be underway for Pawnee). If you put all the batteries in one place, your change of making them agree will improve.

You have a '73 23'. Run it over a scale. You have as heavy a front as anybody, but the ass end so light that if you run E (they can be C) tires, the books don't go that low. Put all the house batteries back there. It will simplify everything and you will be happier. A BF Onan is about 350# (sorry for the English units), T-105s are about 78# ea. If you replace the BF with 4ea - T105, you can still add 34# of copper or Canadian Whiskey before you get back to weight. We do need to talk about the battery box ,but I an fading fast.

I said we will be underway Friday and Saturday, but Mary drives most of daylight and I will have Inetac most of the time and be navigating and browsing. So try questions as soon as you have them and wait patiently.

Just so you know, I am at the nickle on the dollar track. If I could sell hard won lessons at a nickel on the dollar - I could travel all year. I am glad to help and won't even ask you for the nickel.

Matt

I've got 4 trojans in my coach. 2 of them in the back next to the generator used mostly for house related needs. The other 2 are in my wallet... Wink

Dan,

First.... The Dog came home on her own - sore and tired.

I doubt we will meet on the road. We will not be underway until tomorrow morning. I am hoping to hold up at the casino across the river from the arch. Where next depends on whether we run the OK toll road or not. What I can find out is that it should cost 6+$, at 3.8/gal if it saves 20 miles, that is good. That will get us to Shawnee real late, so we will probably look for a good ONP and roll in Sunday Morning.

See you there

Matt

Wow. I missed the word "at" the first time I read this. Pretty bold announcing it to the world before you do it.

From Mo to Tulsa will cost $6.75

From Tulsa to Wellston--$6.75 NOT my choice of best route.

From Tulsa to Chandler--$4.25 Shorter & better roads. Take SH 18 South to I-40, Then go West to Hwy 177 (Exit 181), then South.

The Turnpike is faster & shorter. One toll plaza on each turnpike. Well worth the cost. Lord knows I spend enough on them.
