I've never used the cruise control on my 1975 Glenbrook.
And I can't find the controls. Where should they be located? (on/off set/accel)

Maybe they're missing...

Thanks,
Bill

Bill,

The push button in the end of the turn signal switch is the only
control for the OEM cruise control.

When you push it all the way in, you're in the "Coast" mode. If you
let it out slowly, it will pass through the "Engage" mode, and the
green telltale light should illuminate, along with the CC taking the
throttle. To disengage, tap the brake pedal. There is normally no
"Resume" feature, but somewhere Bob deK. has published instructions
for implementing that feature.

Don't be surprised if it doesn't work. Or if it likes to go faster &
faster. (Or maybe slower & slower.) They can generally be repaired
(the X7525 manual covers them well), but MANY of us have gone to
aftermarket CC's or converted to later GM ElectroMotor CC's.
Instructions are published -- check the photo site for an excellent
album by John Sharpe.

I have a manual for the cruise control and I sent it to bdub, but can't find it on his site. I can send it to you separately if you send me an email.

Jim K sells rebuilt originals as well for something around $110 and the electronic upgrade for around $400. I put in a rebuilt unit and it works just fine. No resume though.

And JimK among others has rebuilt transducer/servo units if your unit has problems.  My coach has a rebuilt put in by the PO at the COOP.  Dunno where they got it, but it works flawlessly.

The cruise was an ordered option and I am told it was not common on Tranmodes. Maybe you don't have one.

Some day . . .
I'm going to replace mine with a Dana Speedostat (what became Rostra) analog unit c.1973. I like it better than the GM, I just have to work out where to stick the drive shaft magnets and pick-up coil.

That will go well with my 1974 Delta Mark X Capacitive Discharge ignition (I can run 0.060 gap and not break anything) already installed.

Then, I need to find room behind the grill to include the 1973 vintage Hadley air horns, but I will not need the vacuum powered compressor this time.

Too bad I can't find the Thermosan kit I once had.

Thanks for all your feedback.
Now I can see the button on the end of the turn signal.
I'll give it a try.

Regards,
Bill
