Where is the vacuum source for the stock cruise control located?

does the manifold line go to the brake bar (area)? then back to the
cruise control.
does anything else run off that vacuum line?

I am fairly certain that would be dependent on the year, engine and what emissions (CA/Fed) it had/has.

I know my 1978 (403, CA emissions) had something else on the line, because when I took out the CC, I removed the vacuum line back to a tee... not the front of the carb.

As long as the cruise gets full vacuum you have a lot of choices where to hook it up. Any fitting directly on the manifold will work or any fitting on the carb that has vacuum with the throttle closed. There is at least one carb fitting that has full vacuum.
