I finally installed one piece of Coolaroo snap shade over the rear window! Made a terrific difference in heat coming from the back glass and was SIMPLE to install. Perhaps I should of cut it when the sun was out and not in the dark but thats another story. If your looking for a cheap yet nice way to cover your windows it seems Coolaroo worked well, and its allows you to see through it very well. Snaps on/off ez, and the snaps are quality.

FYI..Lowes had it on clearance for $20.oo off. I'm not sure if all of the Lowes have it, but thats a nice price to lower heat coming in from the glass a lot that also looks nice. I plan on using it on all the house windows. Plus for the sides of the cockpit the price you pay for the screen inserts that are sold you can make yourself cheap out of left over material.

I stink so bad with pics. But I'll try to take them tomorrow. I want to take a pic of the roof top vent I have available as well. I was painting today some stuff in the rear seating area and got caught up in that.

Thats not the snap shade. They make a a lot of products. However the snap shade comes with 3 part snaps and "optic" quality fabric. Which is marketing meaning " you can see through it pretty darn clear"

I wonder, can you buy the snap kit separately?

I was thinking of how I would utilize it...cut a piece to fit rear window & fasten it in place on inside & leave it there.

It would look better than the piece of foil insulation I have now.

I don't think it would be as effective on the inside. The light has
already been converted to thermal as it passes through the glass. All
the product info shows it outside the windows.

Thanks, Dan

This stuff is new to me. I guess it's used when parked, like the windshield covers.

I'll toddle down to Lowe's or HD & check it out up close. Touchy..Feeley.

I created a cooleroo front window tarp and one for the sides.

I DO NOT PUT SNAPS ON MY GMC... I have enough holes in the body and don't care to add more.

The top of the Windshield tarp ties on each side to the gutter ends. The bottom ends are bungied to the frame of the GMC. I have not had much concern even in the winds.

The side also uses line to tie the top to the front gutter, I use hooks, and or the roof railing.

One secret to the kooleroo is to keep an air passage between the glass and the kooleroo cloth. It allows the hot air to move up and out.

For you who don't want a project, the cooleroo is easy to cut and sew with a sewing machine. It takes a couple hours and its done.

Economically speaking, you may get buy with once cover for the front and sides and rear. It is not often that both sides of the GMC are hit with the sun, but then, there are those rare moments.

You will notice a MARKED DIFFERENCE in window glass heat compared to the glass with direct sunlight on it.

If Mr Rads' roof treatment works well, he is well on his way to keep his GMC cooler without the cost of the AC and noise of the genset.

Fastening it to the inside will only trap the heat on the inside of your coach. I should be placed on the outside.

The Kooleroo material is sold in quite a few places. Amazon Dot Scam does carry it. Be careful.. Amazon allows sellers to charge shipping PER ITEM so if you buy three items that have a shipping of 5 dollers, you will pay 15 dollars shipping.

I have brought this up to A.C and they say its just business.

The snap kit is stick on, no drilling. I was just looking at it in
Lowes. They have the full snap kit for $84. It is about $57 on-line so I
have to balance shipping with that. I'll likely get two, one for the
front and one for the rear. The awnings should take care of most of the
sides.

I buy a LOT of stuff from Amazon & have a Prime membership.
It's $79 a year & I get free 2 day shipping on most stuff I buy.
A bonus...you can add up to four other people on the account.
Also get other perks like on line books & video streaming.
If something doesn't have free shipping, I search around the site & usually find a listing that does.

On third party items that have shipping, if I want more than one, I put them in the cart & go to checkout & see if the shipping increases.

I love Amazon...my UPS guy... not so much.

Well, $57.99 at the Super Outlet Center on-line with free shipping and
no tax. Better than the $90ish with tax at the box store. I sprung for
two. Soon, some roof paint, then I get serious with the interior (at
least the front half) after I isolate a bathroom leak.
