Hi Gary
What voltage are you connected to?
What kind of load, resistive (heater) or inductive (motor)?
The resistance is .64 ohms per 1000 feet, that is one way. So out and back
would be twice that.
So at 19 amps the voltage drop would be .64 * 2 * 19 = 24.32 volts in 1000
feet or 2.432 volts in 100 feet. Resistive loads won't mind that voltage
drop but motor type loads may not be happy.

Hi Gary
Further to my previous calculations:
So at 19 amps the voltage drop would be .64 * 2 * 19 = 24.32 volts in 1000
feet or 2.432 volts in 100 feet, or .24 volts in 10 feet. The compressor is
going to have an inrush or startup current much higher than the run current.
It is really the start current you need to consider.
You can get an idea of the startup current by measuring the motor resistance
with an ohm meter.
What distance did you need to run?

Hey Dan:
That engineering toolbox website is a great site for these kinds of questions. It asks to use it's mobile site if you log on with an iPhone!
I created a desktop link!!
Thanks for the link!!
Cheers, beers and best regards

I've gone there many times but didn't realize they had a mobile version.
Have it on my iPhone now too. Thanks!
