I heard not to clean the onan with water, but, how would use a degreaser
then? Also I have 10 volts at the terminals for the start solanoid, I read
in the trouble shooting guide, should be twelve?

I would try to blow it off first with an air nozzle and use a spray degreaser locally as needed. I have used water in the past with no problems, but try to avoid the control board (the one with the cover over it and the manual start/stop button).
