Before I gather all the official info to put it on CL or else where I wanted to post it here.
My Onan is a 2001 4KW Emerald. It got approx 78 hrs on it, and just installed all the maintenance items (oil, filter, etc all from onan in phx az) I just removed it today from my GMC and turned its compartment into a 6v battery tray. If anyone in AZ wants to buy it make me a offer.

Michael, I'm interested. I have a 26ft so it has to be mounted fore-aft. I'm not sure how it was mounted in a 23ft. Do you have the dimensions? Is it all a self contained unit on a flat tray with the muffler attached? I'm going by what I can see on-line. I'm assuming it runs fine and is relatively quiet right?

Hello-
I can take pics. It runs perfect. I didn't take it out cause of a issue with it running. Just because everything is now hybrid, solar/wind. That compartment is now turned into a battery bank.
I can take pics and post them. Muffler was extended a bit cause I hate the smell of a generator. The unit ran like a champ. Its only 78 hrs on it from 2001. I'll take pics tomorrow. I'm not in a rush and am willing to give a good deal on it. I have no need nor ever want to use it again. I used all onan parts tuning it up even.

If you look outside you'll see what I see! I'll try to take pics today, but the weather may not allow me!

Mr.RadioActive wrote on Wed, 07 March 2012 21:24 | LOL, I'll do it tomorrow. Today I was busy with some touches on the new Onan free system Its a clean unit however. I'll make it worth your time if you want it. I know myself and it will sit around for years and I'll sell it for $25 at a yard sale down the road. I'll sell it while it still has good value! lol

I could always run down a couple of exits and save you the trouble.

Hi there,
I'm a couple of years late to this conversation, but am interested to learn more about your wind/solar hybrid conversion. Any info or pics you can provide would be greatly appreciated, as would any advice on removing the Onan.
Thanks!
/Les
