Use the laundry facilities available at most campgrounds. The big joy of the GMC is its size and drive ability, adding things like dishwashers and laundry machines and you'd have to remove the majority of the seating, the kitchen, the closet, or the bathroom... Which of those would you sacrifice?

Not to mention the GMC barely contains enough white and blackwater space for a very careful 4 or 5 days of living (at about 10 gallons a day). If you are going to a campground with full hookups, making a washing machine more palatable from a dumping and water holding capacity, there is almost guaranteed to be a laundry room on site.

I've seen this on other forums, and it generally comes down to it not washing enough clothes in one cycle, and taking forever to dry them. Add in the space it takes in a 23 or 26 footer.
You'd probably be better off washing in the sink and running a clothes line on the roof.
At speed.

Dennis,

I saw this coach at my first GMCMI Convention in Santa Rosa. IIRC the guy
that owned it was a bachelor. I reckon it was the ultimate bachelor pad - ON
WHEELS!

The workmanship was impeccable!

Good question.

These take a small load. They work. The ventless systems take longer to
dry the clothes than the vented models. They are not cheap. They are
handy. The big coaches have these because they have the space. For the
quarters, the inconvenience of using a facility is cheaper. However, if
you want to wash something every other day and avoid a line, then the
combo units are your ticket.

The most popular brand is Splendide.

Now, having said all of that, back in the 1970s we had a home model and
liked it very much. Put the clothes in, turn it on, go back in 100 minutes
and take out dry clothes. It sure saved space. We got ours from Sears. The
repair guys didn't like them, however. Ours worked for 15 years before
dying. My wife cried. We had to get separate units. The only advantage was
drying a load while washing a load.

I think your both right. use the rest rooms and laundry services out source. Ok. got it.
Clothes are cheap here in L.A. from movie clothes resale. Amazing place here, it's a wrap
it was on oprah winfrey show as well.

http://itsawraphollywood.com/

If you ever get to L.A. go to this store to buy clothes.
dirt cheap and really cool.
buy cheap clothes and throw them away.
t shirts with pockets are 2 to 3 dollars. suites are 30 to 40 dollars.
shoes are 10 dollars, that are worth 100. Great place to shop
i take people to this place on my tours, clothes in australia are real expensive.
I shall forget about the laundry deal. I suppose.
tempting though with a filter and reuse the same water. Clean the filter every once in a while.
an above floor 10 gallon tank under the washer with a filter and use the same water over and over
just change it every once in a while and clean the filter. It is 195 pounds empty. a lot of weight empty and petrol
to carry around. I plan to stay on the street in the city or on the beach here most the time, it could be worth it. It would need
it's own water pump, big water filter, small tank, i think i will still look into it more. thank you for the ideas.

This clothes washer works pretty good. Small enough to store in closet as clothes damper.

We are installing a Splindid single unit that is a washer and drier into the rear of a rear bath Coachmen floorplan.  The owner has 1 now in his 5th wheel and says it works well.  Not sure on the plumbing yet, stay tuned,

RV parks with laundries would be a first choice. It takes a lot of water
to wash clothes and that means either full hook ups, or full holding
tanks. No way around it, even with large SOBs.

Mickey,
Not to put a hole in your boat, but these small washers are just what they are, small washers, take up space and take forever to do your wash. use lots of water and you still have to dry your cloths. We are on the road 4+ months a year in our GMC and we work on the 10 day cycle when it comes to washing cloths. By that I mean we have 10 days of underwear, sock and etc. We find a large laundry mat and do our cloths in in about an hour and 20 minutes. In and out and gone. JMHO My time it too important to spend all day doing cloths.
