Trying to learn how to attach a file to a forum message.
I tried attaching a msword doc that contained only 3 words as a test.
The system rejected the file as over the size limit.
I'm going through this exercize be cause I type very slowly and often lose partial messages before completion and sending. Then I have to start over.
So I thought I could create a message in Word, save it and then attach it to my post and send it on the forum.
Any suggestions?

Hi Gene:
I think I understand your frustration. When I use my I-phone to respond, it often takes a lot of time to type with the touch screen, and there seems to be too small a window. Therefore I get frustrated too.
May I suggest the following because it works as a solution for me.
Go ahead and type your response in any form of text editing software that works best for you. (I use the notes app)(Microsoft Word in your case). Once you are happy with the result:
- highlight the complete document
- copy the text using "Control C"
- Open the new post window for the Forum
- past the text using " Control P"
By trying to upload a file directly from MS Word we may not be able fondest it if we do not have MS Word on our machine ( my I phone as an example)
Hope this helps

By trying to upload a file directly from MS Word we may not be able to read it if we do not have MS Word on our machine ( my I phone as an example)

| Just type what you want into your text editor (I would use Notepad, but Word will work) then select and cut (or copy) your text from your editor and paste into your reply. Attachments take a lot more storage than plain text, so spare the forum host some expense and stick to plain text.
Also, if you use the forum instead of email, you can edit your posts after you send them.

The cut (Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-P) suggestion is a good one. I don't know
whether the Forum will accept attachments but I do know that the email
GMCNet will NOT accept ANY attachment, so anything sent as an attachment to
the Forum will never reach the rest of us.

Down at the Browse button on the web forum, it shows maximum size for a
message attachment to be 1Kb. I don't think that even an empty Word file
is that small.

Yes - the correction will show on the forum but the forum will not resend the updated post to the email based GMCnet system. Therefore emailer users of the GMCnet/forum will not see the update. Better to repost to make a change/update.
