Seller wants $1000.00 for this 1973. I don't think that's going to happen. Interior is gutted, no fridge, furnace, generator, seats, nothing. The frame is rusted beyond repair. Boggies are sagging.
Positives:
Windshields looked good, airbags looked ok but deflated, engine/transmission complete but not sure if it runs.
I think I've heard that 1973 A-arms are not rebuildable and the boggy pins on 73 are a different size then later models.
Must be towed.
Does anyone see any parts value in this coach considering that it needs to be towed and the labor to remove any usable parts and distribute?
Am I missing anything of value that is worth purchasing this for some price lower then $1000.00? Can you also estimate what the used part is worth?

AFAIK the A-arms from a '73 are the same basic arm as later years, however, because they don't use the method of reinforcement Steve
F doesn't mess with them.
I vaguely remember reading somewhere that was because quite often he found them to be cracked and it was too much work to fix them
and then reinforce them to his standards. He wasn't happy with providing anything less than the very best to fellow GMCer's. IIRC
the weak area is the tip where the ball joint mounts.
I've Cc'd him on this message to make sure he sees it and has the opportunity expand on this explanation or to correct me if I am
wrong.

I thought the A-arms could be rebuilt for a one-ton conversion, but no one will touch them for OEM restoration. Is that a
misconception?

I would think the engine, trans, and associated running gear would all be worthwhile to have, but it would be a lot of work to pull all of that out of the coach.

I paid $375 for my '75 transmode with no interior, plus about $800 to have it hauled home. My frame is good and the bogies are the new size, I pulled the A-arms to reinforce and put on my '74. Carb was not a GMC carb. Radiator was missing, no Onan.

I bought this to save it from the crusher. By the time I'm all done I may break even on value received for $ spent. Some parts are desired by others but it's not cost effective to remove them and ship so it would have to be a local pickup.
Therefore, IMO, this is not a good deal at $1000. Maybe $100 if the towing was reasonable.

With it being a 1973, all the windows have the same kind of latches.
All years use the same latches for the cockpit windows and the 1973 and 1974 used the same latches on all the windows.
Just something people should know when parting out older coaches. Or just replacing the windows in an early coach...

On 30 year old wind sheilds, don't they become more brittle and easier to
crack than say recently made
wind sheilds?

If you do not have the overhead of labor time, then it would be a good buy.
The generator and LPG doors with hing are worth 50-70 each, rear
corner sections are worth 100-120per side, cockpit side glass complete is
wort 150-200 per side with framing,wiper switch is worth $40,
As you can see there is value, but you need to know how to carve the parts
so it is valuable to repair shops.
