I compared the 160231 rims to the 160201 rims and they are virtually identical except for the lip where wheel weights are fastned. The 160201 rim can't have wheel weights on the lip but needs stick on weights.

Same dimensions, same hole pattern, same hub hole, same load rating.

They came with 2 16" steel wheels if anyone is interested, local pickup only. Portland Oregon.

Dan,

Where did you find the data on 160201 wheels?

As there really are 160201 wheels and the current Alcoa documentation doesn't mention them, I suspect they where discontinued... a while ago.

I do not see the problem with a lack of a place to install weights. If you use balance beads you will not need wheel weights.

I would like to pick up a the steel wheels to be used a spare tires. Any contact on that should go "off net."

Never found any printed data, the wheels have load and size stamped into rim, the rest was done with visual comparison, tape measure and calipers. They came as 160201 and 160202 the 160202 just polished on wrong side but that can be fixed with a little work.

Today I've worked on completing a presentation on tire safety with the GMCer
in mind. It covers several points relating to tire wear, determining proper
pressure, service longevity, how old is too old, and tread depth. It also
goes into other conditions that effect tires whether running or being
stored. I assembled a simple graphic that illustrates how to read the DOT
serial number which contains the date code. The information was gleaned from
several trade articles and information from multiple manufacturers. The last
slide is about cleaning the air spring for maximum service.

You can get the PDF from the Eastern States web site.
