Nope, Sorry Mac. That's the standard height unit. It took me 2 years on ebay to find my 2)new 15K low profile units. Paid $525 for one and $720 for the other and that one is black. lol. Good luck in your search.

I do not think it is a low profile. It would have a exhaust fan on the very top of the roof unit.
This one looks just like the one on top of my '78. The one I have is a 13.5k unit. I like the air conditioner but if I had plans keeping the 26 foot coach I would want two of the low profile units AC's.
IIRC: There isn't any way to tell if this is the larger 15k unit without reading the SN plate of the ROOF TOP UNIT... not the plate on the ceiling unit they show. Also notice it does not have a heat strip.

Not sure that this has any relevance to the current conversation, but I just heard a few days ago that the Carrier manufacturing plant here in Tyler, Texas is shutting down within the year & all of the manufacturing jobs are headed to Mexico. The plant makes central A/C units. Guess it's a sign of the times. First the local Kelly-Springfield tire plant & now Carrier. Won't be long before this country forgets how to build anything.

I am hoping that someone buys the rights to manufacture the low profile Carrier unit as it really a wonderful unit. I think the general downturn in the economy and problems with the heat strips in these units weighed into Carrier's decision, but we can only hope.
According to news reports, it actually sound like manufacturers are starting to rethink the outsourcing of all manufacturing to other countries. Whether it's shipping costs , quality control issues, or some other factor, some is coming back home slowly.
Trying to buy American made is probably a good idea, but enough politicking!

George,
Carrier was purchased by the United Technologies Corporation back in 1979. I worked for the Hamilton Standard which was also a
division of UTC.
IIRC the rule of thumb from UTC was that if you had a product line that wasn't making 15% profit or more SELL or SHUT it down! I
suspect that's what happened to the RV branch of Carrier-Transicold.
Unfortunately according to this:

It's all over bar the shouting!
Regards,
Rob M.
