Hello. Just recently (within the last two weeks) the gmc has refused to start. My fiance has done the normal starting ritual of pumping the pedal before turning the key and she said that it once started but now it just turns over and wont fire. I understand the whole fuel/air/spark process but is there something maybe we are overlooking? The tanks have fuel and just two weeks ago it started and ran.

Take the cover of the air cleaner off and see that it is closed all
the way on it's own auto choke.
Sometimes one can flood the engine, so use the un flood proceedure
;PUSH the gas all the way down and crank for half a minute, then pull
foot off and crank again.

You really need to go back to the basic fuel and spark question to see if you have both. I would look down the throat of the carb and move the throttle open a few times to see if fuel is squirting out of the accelerator pump nozzles. If so, you have fuel. If not, that's what you need to investigate. If you have fuel, I would pull a plug wire and see if you have spark to ground (about 1/8" gap proximity)while cranking. If you have both, you indeed may have flooded it. If no spark, we can go from there.

I've seen a hole burnt through the rotor, theres fire but it's going straight to the distributor shaft and not to the plugs, it's something you can't see and will act like what you describe. Also do you have an electric fuel pump that isn't coming on after oil pressure is built up. Just a couple of suggestions from my GMC product experience.

As suggested, she needs to check for fuel in the carburetor throat and then
spark at the plugs. The spark thing may throw her. If so, she can buy at
Harbor Freight, for about $2.98, a spark tester. It fits between a
disconnected spark plug cable and the plug itself. If there's spark
available during starting, a little neon bulb will flash. No flash, no
spark, & no start. Come ask more questions.
SHE can do that!
(Probably better yet, find someone on the Black List -- Like Jeremy Knezek.)
