Not me, but while I was at HomeDepot I was brainstorming about using a small house clear roof dome. Cut a hole in the roof and adhere it. May not open but would add light. I'm sure I could ponder a way of making it open. I love modifying stuff. I'm sure it would be cheap and easy.

I'm almost done with my gray water valve to divert gray water to a hose bib outside so it doesn't go into the black tank to save room in it when on a good size trip. Modifying stuff is fun!

Well, it wouldn't be electric but you can get a clear hatch for a boat to put up there. They come in many sizes and you can have a tint put on it to keep the heat out ( reflective tint ). They open and you can put a screen on them.

Just what I have seen

Depending on how big you want it, why not just cut another vent hold up front? I know structurally that area is a bit thin, so I wouldn't want to put too much weight up there. But a standard 14x14 vent hole would allow you to go with anything from a fantastic fan to just a cheap RV vent.

i have a webasto/hollandia electrical sunroof (the biggest on the catalog, don't remember the type)
tilt and sliding function, sliding is over the roof.
its a perfect fit, it follows the contour of the roof.

Hello,
Willem, If you could get the Model number, would help us out.
Looks very nice i think. It's an addition, i am thinking about, As redoing, the front led markers, new Tv antenna etc, so while i have the front roof apart, may as well look for stuff that would make life better.... Would think the air flow would be much improved on a warm day with a vent/sunroof there.
Have a sunroof on minivan here, and that makes a real difference.
Does not look like you reinforced the roof, i guess due to the shape, construction of it, that not needed.

cheers and beers :- Steve

hello,
it is a webasto/hollandia type 300 large,i have mine from the scrapyard.

http://www.webastosunroofs.com/products/sunroofs/hollandia-300.html

the 300 whit the sliding sunblind wil not fit, sunblind moves backwards under the roof, this is not possible in the GMC,if you delete this it is not a problem, the one whit the rollo will fit.
i have not reinforced the roof, the outer aluminium and the inner steel from the sunroof ad strenght to the roof.

in the past, webasto use a name for the 300, is was the same size, only the glas has a pattern on it (colored dots all over).

i make more pictures off it this week.

willem
