Was the original jack, really long, red, came with a chain and a handle? If so I have as well. I was going to put it on ebay not knowing it was the original (if it is) How much are they worth??

Micheal,
There is obviously some of GMC world that you missed.
The factory supplied jack and its use is all described in the original owners manual. If you do not have one and have not at least looked through it, I strongly suggest that you do so. If you do not have one, download it at:
url<http://www.bdub.net/manuals/ops73/index.html>
go to page 55 and read.
If you do not have a GMC jack hook and the correct bottle jack, this is you only hope for lifting the rear when things go flat. No other jack will get under the bogie casting when it is down.
While it was supplied by GM, and the instructions are clear, several of us have tried to use this jack to effect a front tire change. To my knowledge, nobody has described a means to do this with damaging the front bumper mount where one is jacking. It can, however, be used to lift the frame enough to get the a short bottle jack under the front cross member if a front tire is down.
