Anyone,

How / or where is the best way (place) to put the water tank in the rear of the coach?

Alongside LP box (how it was), or along the back wall? Pros and cons.

Thanks now for the help.

Further back you place it, the more it would effect handling.
Why did you remove it?

As far as handling is concerned that moves the CG of the fresh water tank a few inches only and would be a net nevermind. I found the original position was satisfactory. I rebuilt the drain valve and it works fine now. I redid the plumbing and eliminated the gas cap like filler (see thread on filling water tank with gasoline by helpful friend) I added a line to provide filling the plumbing from an RV antifreeze bottle. Oh, and a new pump.
Its all on my gmcmhphoto site album.

I put mine across the back, Offset a bit from the genny. Doesn't seem to affect handling at all. It is custom made.

It mostly depends on what you want to do with the remaining space.

If you are still using the rear area as a seating area, the water tank should be under one of the seats... next to the propane cabinet for the more common "one seat on each side", or across the back on the gaucho type.

If you are moving to a fixed rear bed, I would think that across the back would make it easier to use/access the other space for storage. BUT if you are planning on some type of powered bed lifter... you might need to consider how it would need to be positioned.

Just my thoughts... not from experience.

(Harry asked, "Why did you remove it?")
I ’m rebuilding the inside, leaky connections, dirty tank, and was a plumbing nightmare.

To all. Thanks for your input. I would like a new custom tank, but this one is usable, and I’m fast approaching my 25K amount. LOL

The tank in the rear location will provide more and better (easier reach) access to the storage under the bed. The connections look to be easier to make also.

Tanks again.
