Cool

Hello, all.

Hasn't been much to report about my coach. She still runs fine and is much safer since I had all the gas lines replaced. Lucky I didn't blow up the gas station last Spring when a puddle of gas formed under the gas hose connection at the tank. (Fire Dept. came and cleaned up after the station manager saw it.)

Meanwhile...I trashed 4 of my already ratty hubcaps crossing the wooden bridge to and from Carmel by the River RV Park in Carmel Valley, CA. Heads up; bridge is narrow and has steel-edged curbs.

I'd like a set of 6 hubcaps that look really good, especially the painted centers.

If you have a set to sell, PM me or email at:

david@schwartz-engineering-design.com

Happy Holidays!

Dave

"Look really good" is subjective. I personally have never much cared for the stock hub caps. So they would have to be perfect to "look really good." Even then I most likely would not use them.

I think I saw some BRAND NEW, still IN THE BOX, hub caps on ebay... most likely gone by now.

While stumbling around looking for some other parts that I stashed away, I did see two stacks of OEM hub caps in the pod on my #3 coach. (I had forgot they where up there.) There could be 12 to 14 of them up there. (From #2 and #3, I gave away the two that came with #1.) I could dig them out and see what shape they are in.... I also should be heading south (from Oregon) in late Feb early March.

Thanks for the reply, Mike.

None on eBay at the moment.

I'm hoping that 6 pieces of your hubcap collection are in good shape. Please let me know how much you want for them. I'll be glad to pay for UPS Ground shipping or meet you when you drive through NorCal. I'm near Sacramento.

Best Regards,

Dave

Try here. At a later date, I plan on ordering a set of six
for $125 as quoted by the seller. They are low priority
for me at the current time.

I'm going the other way.....
Hit out with all six caps hammered down tight Tuesday AM from N GA to Orlando.  The coach molted hubcaps the entire way.  I now have 2.  I will be doing the 'look at the hubs on that one' thing for the future.
As to the trip. GMC behaved perfectly.  60 LBS in the rears, 65 in front, handles nicely.  Oe of my harbor freight on sale LED trailer lights fell off the toad and lost its lenses, but the red LEDs still work.  I taped bpth to the deck lid for the remainder of the trip.  I will appear at Harbor Freight with the st as a disgruntled customer, who will be gruntled upon replacement.

Johnny,

I am going the other way with my look, no caps or skirts and black everything in the wheel well area. I have a box of hubcaps in my garage, 8 or 10. I will pull them out this afternoon, check condition and let you know this evening. I can send you some pictures also.

Mine did the same thing. It made me wonder if the previous PO ever drove it. I then put on a set of SS caps and those would randomly fly off. I finall bit the bullet and bought Alcoa's

Mine "grew" hubcaps one night in GA. They just materialized overnight
and then 4 or 5 were lost on the trip to get the coach weighed.
Scales were located in front of my parking space so I just did a loop
to get back parked.

Be sure you get the right size. 16 inch hub caps will fly off of 16 1/2 inch wheels. Trust me, I know !!!!

I wasn't clear - I'm going that way too.  Of the two left, one was given me by a Florida GMCer for shipping.  I'll make the same deal.  Anyone who wants one or two, send me a shipping address.  I'll send you them, send me back the postage.  The donated one was less than $8 to mail frm FL to GA, shipping would be under $20 for both anyplace in th US I suspect.  Anybody wants, holler.

Thanks, everybody!

I bought a set of 7 from a one of our members in Ohio. They will help make the coach look as cherry as possible with original paint and decals that are showing their age.

Next on my list is new windshields. I can get those installed locally, I think.

Best Regards and Season's Greetings,

Dave
