I just got my copy of the GMC calendar....NICE!! It will travel with us as we scour the south this winter.

I did notice however on the September page that both GMCMI and Western States have their rallys on the same dates. I'd sure like the option of attending both. Seems like when two major rallys like these are scheduled on the same dates that maybe it would hurt attendance at both. Just wondering what others are thinking.

YaKnow..

This is something all the organizers fight every year. There are just so few dates that are good for these things.

After schools close, no RV parks are available. You have to stay away from Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day. Here in the north, spring can come late and fall always comes too soon. And some fortunate souls still have jobs to go to.

As a told a subordinate during his annual review one year, "Your inability to bi-locate in interfering with your response to some situations." (Yes, we had a good laugh.)

Larry,

Interesting that you bring this up. Actually, I've always wondered in the
back of my head why some of our clubs don't actually cooperate more closely.
It does seem that we step on each other's toes from time to time. I've never
been opposed to cooperation. Of course, this touches the ego level of some
folks.

By the way, my father-in-law says "the hit dog hollers". If my comment about
ego offends you then I guess you just got hit.

But, I guess the reality is that if GMCWS appeals more to those west of the
Rockies and GMCMI appeals more to others, then there is no conflict.
However, if you want the ability to decide then you do have a problem.

Mmm...no offense intended, no offense taken. Just interested in knowing if this is an issue with others. If it is, lets try to do something (or more) about it. If it is not an issue with others...I'm Ok with just dropping it. NBD

As a new owner, I too would like to attend other clubs rallies as I wander around. In just the last few months there were several reports after the fact of the great time had by all at a rally.

The net forum has a great calendar at the bottom of every page for all to use. Only the current Dixielanders rally is on there now. With the GMCMI Spring and Fall events, the cross Canada, Treasure Island and major trips, there seem to be many opportunities to visit other clubs along the way.

Sometimes people forget that there is an International GMC and forget
about the dates.
FMCA will not say anything to give International anymore say than a 10
member club when it comes to dates.
I have addressed this with Frank Condos as he is familiar with FMCA's policy.
Fmca first year membership is 45 and lot of people are not willing to pay that.
