There is a topic below that lists several GMC's on COPARTS. While browsing this site, I noticed this nice looking GMC with a smashed front end. Parts coach.
I also noticed it had Alcoa wheels. I think there are at least six of us looking for one Alcoa wheel as a spare. What if we found a GMCer in the Mobile Alabama area that would be willing to strip this coach and sell the parts pre-paid. Six of us send our volunteer $100-$200 each for one Alcoa which would more then cover the probable purchase price of the GMC.
Others could prepay a fair value for the parts they need:
Knuckles, hubs, drums, storage pod, interior items, ladder, engine, trans, final drive, etc, etc. This could be a money maker for the volunteer in the Mobile area. Once the coach is stripped, sell it to a salvage company.
Any brave souls in the Mobile Alabama area willing to look into this challenge?

Mike,
I think those wheels are American Eagle wheels.

POs, Reg and Dot Phillips, are GMCMI members and are in the roster. I'm
sure they'd answer any question you might have about it. It was a very nice
GMC. Notice the new 15kbtu roof airs also.
The accident happened near John Richardson's place 3 or 4 months ago. Thank
God they came out unscathed. Temporarily driving an SOB till they find
another GMC they like.

I wonder why they did not buy it back? The ins carrier will tell the owner salvage buyback amount. Maybe too high? If I were planning on another one I would have kept the salvage knowing what I know now.

My three cents:
1. I am fairly sure that someone between you and the coach has room to store the parts coach during the disassembly. The shipping will be the major expense... reduced quite a bit with your D.I.Y. (Do It Yourself) move.
2. I wonder how good the frame and chassis is? Maybe all it needs is a BODY donor...
If the frame and chassis is good, this coach be "mated" with a "northern rotted frame" coach to make a nice coach... most of the nice features of this coach (other than the paint) could be moved from one body to the other.
3. If anyone bids on this coach be sure to factor in CoPart fees. They could double the bid price. They just about charge you to breath the air in the lot.
Also: If you are local to the auction be sure to ask about delivery. When I had my Sidekick delivered, it saved me the $30 "gate" fee, but the delivery was something like $55. So the delivery charge, for about 30 miles, was really only $25.
