I am in the process of tearing apart my bogies and Jim K is sending me a pin/bushing set. I asked Nick there what grease they use and he told me Amsoil #2 lithium complex. Problem is that there is no Amsoil retailer close to me and Applied buys in 5 gallon tubs(dont need that much) I believe that there was some discussion about wheel bearing grease not long ago on the forum and was wondering if there is a suitable grease for the bogies that I can buy at local O'reilly or Auto Zone.

Thanks,

Sully,

Many of us have now gone to Valvoline Synpower for all grease applications..

Did you also ask to rent the bogie bushing reamer or do you have one available? I beileve it is a special length reamer.

Yes on the Reamer. The Jim K kit only takes two bushings per bogie as opposed to the stock four. I asked and was told that they are wider....

Synpower can be hard to find. I can only find it at NAPA, not any of he other chains here in Chicago. The other chains have the other Valvoline greases and Durablend, but NAPA is the way to go.

The 1 1/2 pins use 4 bushings per pin.
