The TV news just reported that Interstate 25 has been closed in both
directions all the way from Belin (Albuquerque) to Interstate 10 at
Las Cruses.

It is 9 deg in Santa Fe at 6 pm and expected to go to -5 to -10 tonight.

Travelers beware. Find a campground if you are driving your GMC into
New Mexico It is expected to be bad for at least the next 3 days.

Global warming?

It'll all be better in 36 hours in the lower elevations.

Yeah, if Al Gore doesn't get a handle on this global warming stuff, we will
all freeze our patooties off.<Grin> Just got back from Ferndale, Wa. (7
miles from the Canadian border) on I 5 Below freezing every night, coating
of ice on everything on Sun morn when we left. Last night here in Salem, OR
it was well below freezing. Still is. Be safe out there.

Emery et. al. You just dashed my years of fond memories of my life in NM 40 years ago. Those memories were of the wonderful weather and dry roads.  Now I recall the realities of the off season: snow on the roads occasionally, frozen pipes including natural gas and propane pipes, sleeping in the snow and wanting to go to anywhere warmer.  My current reality: tonight I picked about 10 fresh tomatoes and put a cover over the tomato plant.  Hope to get a few more weeks from the plant even if it hits record cold here in Vacaville CA (the record is somewhere near 30 degrees F.).  I still love NM in summer. NM is a great place to take the GMC in spring, fall, and often summer.  Give me Death Valley, Phoenix or Quartzsite in January in my GMC.

Well, here in north Florida we woke up to a low of 57% with temp climbing to a balmy 75% - low humidity.
