Its 16 degrees in Santa Fe right now and snowing. I just heard on the radio that most of Interstate 40 is closed across New Mexico due to the ice and snow.
So, if anyone is planning on heading west in the next day or two you had better plan on dropping down to Interstate 10.

All is clear 1/2 way between tucson and phx, just cold. 28 here tonight. We've been getting early morning fog, nothing horrible.

Is that kind of weather abnormal for that part of NM, or typical.

Unusual, yes. In a few days we will have beautiful weather again with spats of this kind of weirdness from time to time throughout the winter. The weather in Tucson is good, but unusually cold right now, after a few days of rain. It should be good for the Saguaro Jetset rally this weekend, south of town.

Living in Deming, NM, last year was very unusual and this year looks like a
follow up to last year. I read that last year over 80% of the homes had
frozen water pipes, they have never burried them very deep here since it has
never gotten this cold. This an area where snowbirds normally come to, last
year over half of all RV parks were empty, looks like tghis year may be the
same. At 8:43 PM it is now 18 degrees and wind blowing snow around at about
40 miles an hr., if I move any father south I will be in Mexico, not where I
want to live.

High wind warning until tomorrow afternoon.
Wind warning is no high profile vehicles and the CHP will close I 8 if gets

You can also log on to CHP site for road conditions.

Yes, we stayed in a WM in Arlington to visit sister then
a rest area 40 miles south of El Paso. Last night at a travel center near Picaho Peak.
We try to stay over in small towns and/or closed businesses with empty lots. We haven't been bothered yet. Did it for 6 Yrs with our fifth wheel but I like this better because we do not have to get out of the coach.
We have a flexible schedule. When will you guys be in Quartzite?
We plan on going there, also would be fun to meet you.
Have you ever been to Holtville, CA LTVA? Has the hot springs with hot pool and hot showers. It is on I 8 just east of ElCentro.
We always spend some time there also.
We will stop in Indio, brother there, by Palm Springs on our way to Jim Ks for disc brakes.
Hope we run into you this year.

First, I apologize for the stray post with no content.
Bill and JoAnne, Looks like we were on the same schedule. We stayed at Cabello's near the Texas Motor Speedway after having dinner with friends in Keller.
We are leaving here (Wilcox, AZ) within the next hour and plan on being in Quartzite this afternoon and may spend tomorrow there. Depends a little on the winds in So. CA. We will be going through Indio headed for Yucaipa, CA. Margie's Dad is celebrating his 100th birthday on the 18th So we will be there until then. We plan on being somewhere in CA over the next 3 - 4 months when we will head back to be at the Shawnee GMCMI Rally. Keep us posted, maybe we can hook up in the next few days. Would love to meet you and swap GMC stories.
BTW...you will like the disk brakes. I have had mine now for about 15,000 miles. My friend, George, and I installed them ourselves first on mine then on his coach.

Randy, quit talking about my favorite places publicly. We are stuck this winter back here in Mo. I been riding along with yall and crying my eyes out. Tickles me that Margie's dad is still in good health for his 100th. I know he still drives. Some of our best friends live there. Grab the rest of the caches in town while visiting the father in law.
Yep rear disc brakes, one of the best things we ever did to our coach.
