The whole thing will come out as one chunk if you disconnect the main harness at the firewall, loosen and partially drop steering column, pull the access cover behind the gauges to unhook vac lines/heater linkage. I have only pulled one and the windshield was out first. It is possible to remove with windshields in as many here have done so. When I pull the WarPigs dash here in a month or so I will pull the windshields as I have a fog free set to go in

Hello out there, i have parts of the dash broken, and i want to repair it. I have looked for photos showing how the whole thing comes apart but no joy. I notice that the lower part is riveted into the frame. Do you have to remove these rivets to dismantle ???
Regards

I imagine that you still have to disconnect the wiper controls, speedometer cable, ride air controls (if an early dash), etc. before the dash can come out.
This would be a great project to have a photographic series showing the process. Most people would like to recover the dash, and it would be nice to be able to remove it. However, I know JimB recommends not to try it as it does want to come apart easily.
If it would be out of the coach, could an epoxy or fiberglass backing be applied to the back side of the dash to reinforce it? I think that a material like the pleather fabric is a great idea for covering the dash to refinish.
Any advice from those that have gone before us would be much appreciated! JimB and JimK are too far away from Illinois!
