Getting ready to pull the trigger on a set of center row Honda odyssey seats for driver and shotgun. The wife is against leather, says its too hot and sticky in the summer (florida).
I found a set of cloth and leather, but in my experience with autos, I found that leather covered seats are built on a better platform than cloth, being a better quality seat with better foam, springs, lumbar etc.
Do you find this to be true with these seats? I can talk her into leather seats with a good argument. Thanks.

Share your experience with other seats as well, keeping in mind these can be had for less than $400. for the pair shipping included.

Well, we live in Oklahoma and it gets VERY hot here,
as well as quite cold! YOur coach DOES have heat and
air conditioning, does it not?

My wife DEMANDS leather! As a natural product, it
very quickly adjusts to your body temperature, hot
or cold!

It is also more considerate of her modesty in that
it does NOT grab her skirt/dress and try to move it
to undesired locations on and around her body!

My experience with leather is that the only time I think it is hot and sticky is when I am wearing shorts and the skin on my legs touches the leather. With long pants, no problem. I do prefer leather but can not always afford it.

One of the posters here said that the dye in his pants came off on the leather.

We've owned an Odyssey with cloth seats for 11 years and they're great. The new center seats that fold flat are a little less comfortable than the old ones because the hinge point is higher and jabs you in the back a little when you recline it at all.

I'm not a fan of leather except for looks. My wife feels the same. We have
leather in our van and I always put a towel on the seat between me and the
seat in summer time. My back gets hot as well as my bottom. I sweat even in
A/C. I much prefer cloth so had cloth seats from Suburban put in the GMC;
the budget level, too. They were firm and comfortable and the cloth is
holding up very well. I did spray them with a coating before putting them
into service. I seriously doubt that the seat, when built, gets different
foam when it comes to the covering. I could be wrong.

I've sat in both. There is no difference in the seats, just the covering. I often think leather seats feel more robust, but that is because I think leather is tougher than fabric. The seats, however, are identical and you can pick whatever you prefer. I like leather everything, but I have kids and leather cleans up so much easier...

I have found that how "hot" or "cold" the leather seats feel depends on the leather. The seats in our Audi do not feel overly hot or cold, but the ones in the Malibu do. We have heaters in the Malibu and need them during the winter and it would be nice to be able to cool the seats in the summer. (But we live in the great north-wet, so the summer heat isn't anything like the south.)

Anyway, we find the leather on the Odyssey seats closer to the Audi in feel.

I would go with the leather and if you do not like them... get some fabric seat covers.

A different point of view here. I am a grease monkey. I'm always dirty from something that I'm into, and I've found that leather cleans up a lot easier. Just my off the cuff observation.

Trade ya  a pair of good condition Flexi - Steel fabric for the leathers if she doesn't convince.  Dog fur wipes right off leather.  It has to be brushed off fabric.  Having had both in the South and the Borth, leather gets the nod for me.  Even without the dog fur.

My last car has air cooled leather seats & they work great. Don't need as much dash a/c.

I know the color of the leather can be matched for bolsters and other seat parts.

Anyone know if the Honda colors similar to those from Flexsteel?

I hope someone can do the whole color dissertation (I know it's out there)
