Does anyone have any pictures of how the fresh water pump was originally mounted? One of my coach's POs mounted a marine water pump vertically in the rear underneath the seat, but I'm replacing it with a ShurFlo pump. Was it screwed directly into the aluminum floor aft of the water tank?

On my 73, if your standing in the back facing the window, its mounted on a platform in the same flat orientation as the tank, right next to the filler hose on the right side up against the wood seat base. sorry no pics now, can get one tomorrow

I put one of the Shur-Flo variable water pumps in my boat
(destroyed by weather in February) and it performed very
nicely. I had to be careful on how far I turned on the
faucets because the new pump would pop the breaker that was
good for the original 3 gpm pump.

I mounted it horizontaly just as the original pump. It came
with shock mounting standoffs to minimize sound transfer.

I bought two pumps at the same time, the second to go into
my 30' Cedar Creek travel trailer, but may end up in the
GMC instead.

Bryan, Here is a pic of how the pump is mounted in our coach.

Pretty sure it is an original PAR pump setup for a early 75 coach.

forget how it was mounted before. Mount it vertically with the motor above the pump so if (when) it starts to leak, it doesn't rust the motor.

They make the motor separable from the pump? Don't they know we live in a disposable world?

No, it'll leak eventually, but it will last longer. Mine is in a plastic tub with a drain, so It could leak for years and still work... You can replace O-rings and such or tighten the screws if it comes loose, all causes of leaks, and if the motor stays dry, it will be fine, if this all happens with the motor getting wet, well, then, new pump...
