Its a Dometic 3 way. On propane, with gas in the tank, I can hear the sparker but it does not light and run. I have heard that there can be an issue with spiders in the burner. I have never dug into that system. Does anyone have any advise or a point to a reference. Tried a search on the forum, didn't find anything.

Thanks in advance.

Others will have better answers but.....

Is the line bled? There is a lot of air between the tank and the fridge.

This may not be recomended but i always open the line at the appliance until i hear or smell LP and close it with the propane still flowing. I've had very few fires or explosion using this method and hardly any fatilities.

Neil,
Remove the tin cover and see if a flam exists .
Always a good idea to remove the brass nos ell and wash it in solvent.
Then see how high the flame is as these coaches need a new pressure
regulator so the flame will be sufficient to do the job.

Like Jim suggests the pilot orifice maybe just needs cleaning. If the flame is lazy and orange looking it definitely needs cleaning. It should be a sharp blue color. If yours has a thermocouple and the flame is sharp and blue it might need to be replaced. As far as the regulator that Jim suggests if you have 11" of water column pressure you should be OK.

If mine has been shut off for a while it needs a couple tries to get the fridge to light off.

I was surprised last campout to find out that the fridge will shut down when the last DC volts are gone.

1yr old set of 6v batteries and they aren't holding a charge.

Without knowing your set up I can not be sure but...

Sounds like you have a draw on your batteries. Charge up the batteries and disconnect them. See if they hold a charge then.

If you don't have a manual, you may be able to find one on this link. I found one for my Dometic there.

Follow up

No big deal. Took the cover off, removed the brass orifice, blew it clean, blew out the tube and burner, all is well.

It is nice when simple works.

Thanks again

Having run Optimas on all my other vehicles, I got out of the habit of checking water levels. They were a little low but even when filled they seem to draw down too quickly.
I'll look at how the house and starting batteries are connected at the PD unit (the only other common junction other than the isolator).
