OEM - Excuse my ignorance but what does that mean? Is there a GMC guide to abbreviations & slang?

PS. We're currently at Fountainbleu State Park just north of New Orleans and its gorgeous! I would highly recommend it as far as state parks go & only $16.

Until I stumbled on Terry Skinner's list of abbreviations I thought SOB had a whole different meaning.

Glenn,

Sure, it was the link I posted earlier...

http://www.bdub.net/GMC_Jargon.htm

Does not include DPO -- dumb previous owner or dead previous owner -- neither of which any of us wants to be...

I should like to propose a new TLA (Three Letter Abbreviation) to be added to the list:
CPO - Considerate or Conscientious Previous Owner

I am a very fortunate current owner.

The long term owner was Maurice Greenberg of Granada Hills,CA. (southern California). There are notes from Duane Simmons, and he might have joined GMCMI. The coach was not in the registry before I got it.

I'm not sure what the relationship was, but a family member got the coach and brought it back to Michigan. Then it was in the care of Henry Austin for three years. He didn't get to use the coach very much, but he did put in nice curtains and otherwise take very good care of it. Just so we could enjoy it.

Yes, I have had to make some repairs, but the coach came to me with the full set of manuals and a great collection of spares.

I often stop to thank both of them.

Matt

Matt,

I have to agree, I don't think my CPO ever drove my 73 Glacier but the
improvements and work he did were all done meticulously. New 3" SS
exhaust, Edlebrock aluminum heads and everything else he did are very much
appreciated. His focus was to get it road worthy and dependable - I am
continuing in that same vane while trying to decide on the mods I may want
to do on the interior.

My Glacier was very much original and a fairly local coach that was in good
original condition that just sat for a while - I kind of think of some of
these "retro fits and restorations" as "Rescue Coaches" - a two letter
acronym perhaps? I have a rescued Yellow Lab - why not a rescued Glacier.

Oh - and I'm proud to say the PO and myself are good friends - which you can
never have enough of when you have a GMC. VBG!
