We have constructed such a shield out of stainless steel and have been
using it for the last 8 or so years. Can provide pictures and/or a tracing of
the templates of it so one can make their own.
Let us know if there is any interest.

Yes, photos and a few dimensions would be great.
Our 73 generator compartment is plywood with a patch of sheet-metal adhered to the inside top.
