Wow. A good price. Agree with the statement that the heat pump can put in
2.5 times more heat than a heat strip. Still, a heat pump looses it's
effectiveness when it gets below 40 outside. But, above that point they are
effective. At that temp a heat strip in an AC unit won't work well either.

Therein lies a difference between someone who lives north of the Mason-Dixon
and someone who dwells on the other side. I don't worry with winterizing
until the mean daily temp gets to 35. It's not because I'm so brave. It's
just that I never know when a nice, sunny day in late October will come
along.

Heck, if we waited for it to get above 40 degrees here in the Great Pacific
Northwest, we would have to hibernate from Late October until Early April.
Same with rain, we just dress for the occasion. We don't tan much in the
summer, we rust. The GMC Cascaders have rallies and gatherings all year. The
annual Christmas and Valentine's events are some of the best attended
rallies that we have all year. Yes, it does get below freezing here, and
yes, you have to winterize your coaches, but we know that a happy GMC is one
that gets used, not parked waiting for a change in the weather. That being
said, we don't have 'Noreasters or Lake Effect snow storms. We only have ice
storms, freezing rains, and hurricane force winds in the Columbia Gorge that
will blow you right off the road when it is covered with ice. They often
times have enough ice in Eastern Portland where they are affected by the
Gorge Winds that the Max Trains cannot run. But when we finally do see the
Sun, we take full advantage of it.
You guys below the Mason-Dixon line can have your high humidity, opressive
heat and insects. Only in America, something for everyone. Just be happy and
love one another, live each day fully. Don't sit around and say, "If
only____________! Life is short enough without wasting a precious day of it.

Rob,

I think that is a great replacement for a roof A/C unit when the time comes. I don't have a furnace in ANNIE. I do have a small space heater, heat strip, heated mattress cover and a 12v throw that I picked up a Flying J for 12 bucks. Am on the last 4 hours of a 2 week trip in the Virginia mountains mostly. That heat pump would be nice.
