Hi GMC-ers! Top of the morning to you! We are heading out of town (currently in Waterville, Minnesota) en route to New York and got 2 of our remaining 3 hubcaps stolen in Waseca. Great little town apart from that. Anyways, the Canyon Lands is looking sadly naked without hubcaps - does anyone know where we can get a cheap old set?

Miriam Clancy and JP Winger + 3 little traveling boys in a faded 1973 Canyon Lands!

I have 2 used OEM 16.5 GMC caps in my garage and 2 fake Alcoa classics hub caps for 16". Let me know if you want and what you want. I have real Alcoas now so these are not of much use.

JimB has the caps that look like alcoas, they are very easy to clean, easier than trying to keep the alcoas shiney, just a wipe and done..... honestly.
Give Jim a call if interested, they look great and hold onto the wheels with a vengance, not so with OEM caps.

I have ten of the Alcoa look-a-like 16.5" hub caps. Four of the ten have never been used. The other six are just like new and have seen less then 1500 miles. I liked them a lot as they are very easy to clean and look great. As I have new Eagles I have no use for them. I can let them go cheaper then you can buy new.

Shurely you JEST....
The Alcoa copy caps sold by JimB and probably others, fit over the OEM steel wheels. I still remember mine, so easy to clean, just wipe em off with a wet towel. They really pick up the looks of the GMC. If I had not been so afraid that the tires sizes would become obsolete and unavailable, I might have just kept the OEM size with those nice caps.

Cleaning the Alcoas is a pain.

Sorry to say, those Alcoa look alike 16.5" hub caps are gone with the wind.  The last shipment we got has hirline cracks in the holes, call the supplier and he said they were mine-- screw me once, shame on you.  Unless someone knows where there is a hudden ore deposit of "unobtanium" those hub caps are no longer available.

You can still find them on ebay:
Ebay Item number: 230634359642

I agree with most of the prior comments. They are a "cheap" way to upgrade the look of the coach. They ARE easy to clean. (I have a set... currently stored waiting for that coach to be repaired.) The plastic ones stay on better than the 1 piece metal ones.

AND

16.5 inch tires are getting hard to come by. If you are keeping your coach for any amount of time... work on getting 16 inch wheels.

Note that these same covers come in 16 inch. But unless you already have a set of 16 inch steel wheels THAT FIT the coach... why would you need them?

Well, thats the life of the GMCer. things that work or maintain easily are high on the hit list.

Still have those owners that have some stocked away and as mentioned EBAY.

If you are years away from Alcoas or Eagles, These ARE still a fabulous option. Just wipe em clean, OH MAN!!! I miss that part.

Nice...

But the two with "GMC" are NOT for dually style wheels.

The other is for a 16 inch steel dually wheel... we have been having problems finding THEM that fit our coaches.

Yes. They should fit your 16 inch steel wheels. You might contact the seller for a package of 6 or 7 caps.

Something wrong with the chrome on your wheels?

Mike...
The 'Chinese' 16inch wheels fit our coaches. If you have 80mm front calipers, you either have to grind a little off the caliper body or use a thin spacer.
