At the request of a couple of GMCers here we looked into coming up with an aluminum key fob.

Here are a couple of key fob options that we cut from 3/16 aluminum just to see if we could and to see if anyone thought that they were nice enough that we should make a small production run. Shown are the front and back.

Since they are aluminum they could easily be polished.

The GMC letters are the exact profile of the letters used on the rear of our GMC's.

I like the detailed 26'. looks like the desk stand thing I bought from you back at dothan. i'd be interested in one depending on the cost. the letter versions don't really interest me, but to each their own. a suggestion? instead of doing the letters in a generic rectangular shape, why not make a blank in the GMC shape and then cut the letters out of it? that might look neat.

i also did not get excited about the letters, i think because even though they do show GMC, to me that is nothing special, there are many GMC key chains on the market.

the coach profile how ever, i like it. its different, it says it all as far as i am concerned. what i had in mind but could not find anywhere. depending on price, sign me up.

I'm in for the coach.

What is the chance of inscribing the back side also. I do not know the production process. It might be too involved to do a back side inscription. Maybe do a separate reverse side key fob also and glue / solder the two together.

Ken, we could so that. In fact, we actually talked about it. I think the best bet to connect the 2 pieces of aluminum would be to glue them. But, I wonder how many other owners would want that. Or even the single side for that matter.

I'd like a few with both sides engraved. Don't think I'd want it to
be twice that thick though, so wouldn't advocate gluing them together.

Nice work, Bill

Bill,

I didn't realize that a water jet could cut that much detail in an item that small.

Question: would it be possible to just cut the outlines of the windows like the entry door and LPG compartment instead of cutting
through?

Either way sign me up for four.

Regards,
Rob M.

Bill,

Along with not having the windows "open" ;-) I'd like to have both sides inscribed. One piece is more appealing to me too.

I'm concerned with you having to answer the question; "my GMC key fob came apart what kind of glue should I use to glue it back
together?" VVBG!

Regards,
Rob M.

Bill, I agree with Rob. I think etching the lines looks better that windows
and a solid windshield. Just my two cents worth.

Do what you think is best and sell it only in one way like Henry did.

Cool key fobs, I was wondering with the duramax engine install was the
RV kept front wheel drive and if yes how was that accomplished. Or was
it converted to a rear wheel drive? Sorry to veer off subject just saw
it in the pictures and had thought about that recently and wondered if
it was possible? Obviously it is possible. Just wondering and I also
think the key fobs would be a great idea. Thank you

How about a "Key Fob" with the front on view? Like the Jeep. Or maybe a
rear view. Just thinking out of the box. I have seen such a rendering
on the photo sight, just don't know where to find it now.

While maybe not as sexy as the ones Bill did, I have these available
on my website:

http://dldesignstore.com//index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=35

There are 2 pictures there, one of the GMCers.org and one that is a
coach outline. You can order either one from the site.

Yes! That is it . Thanks Byron.
This could be a good Key Fob. Shape the outside a little different maybe.
