I have an intermittent high blower in my 73. I figured if the relay was bad (it's about 18 months old) it would just not work. However, if I wiggle the input wires it works for an hour or so. Is it worth opening up to see what's sticking? It was easy to get one from NAPA before. Now they show none in stock. Plus, I think the relay ought to hang in there more than 18 months or 2500 miles or so.

That blower relay is well know for burning due to poor connections. GM had trouble with it on many vehicles, not just the GMC motorhome.
I would crimp on new connectors on the wires and make sure that the connectors are squeezed tight to the point that they are very hard to push on the relay terminals. If the relay is indeed bad meaning that connector also burned, then replace it.
I am surprised that NAPA does not stock that relay. It was used on hundreds of GM car models. Go to one of the other Autoparts suppliers like AZ or Advance for one if necessary. Those relays will last for years if the connections are clean and tight.
I'm not 100% sure I looked up the correct part but Rock Auto shows 5 different part numbers available from 3 manufacturers for the relay. Take the old one in to AZ and match it up with a new one.

I always spray those connections with Caig Deoxit D5 as this helps lower the resistance on the connection over time. Those connections if oxidized generate a lot of heat and melt down the connector. Same is true at the resistor block but to a slightly lesser degree.
