I would contact JimK at Applied GMC, or Dave Lenzi. Both were at the Goshen Rallye, and perhaps one of them can help you.

Hi,
Get in touch with Dave.

Dave Lenzi
- 810-653-3902 Steereing components, leveler linkage, leveler valve rebuilding, embossed copper exhaust gasket.

Idler Arm

Re-built Idler Arm made from your existing arm. The rubber bushing is removed from the cross member pivot end. This end is machined and fitted with an Ampco bronze bushing, hardened sleeve, thrust washers, and a grease fitting. The ball stud end is cut apart; a new urethane bushing is installed. A new threaded cap with thrust washer and grease fitting is installed.
$200.00 plus shipping.

I am as cheap as they come and I say its worth the money. This was the major cause of my road wander.

Hi Al

I made an error in measuring the Pittman Arm on my 23 Birch , it
should be 19 inches long.

It sound like I should be able to get one from on the net, which will

I am confused with the measurement of the Pitman Arm which is the arm
directly off the steering box which is no where near 19' long, should this
reference be the Drag Link?.

Steve,
I think that we need to get the steering linkage defined. Mant Man.
X-7525B, Section 9, Page 9-1, Fig 1 Show the layout of the linkage.
The Pitman Arm is the piece that is connect directly to the steering
box. The Drag Link is connected between the pitman and the relay
lever. The relay lever is connected to the intermediate Rod which is
supported on the passenger side by the idler arm. On either end of
the intermediate rod are the tie rod assemblies. The piece that you
appear to be describing is the drag link which is approximately 19 or
so inches long. Chances of finding one in good condition used is slim
and none. The Jim's may have a NOS unit or a used for sale every now
and then. Jim K sell the Dave Lenzi front end pieces and they are
better than new as they are beefed up and the drag link are now
adjustable. http://www.appliedgmc.com/prod.itml/icOid/653

Yes the Pitman arm on our coaches is a "dumb" piece in that it has no joints or wear items. The drag link has 2 smart business ends. The relay lever has one dumb end to accept the drag link and a smart end to attach to the center link, which is totaly "dumb" as no wear joints. Buy the Drag link from Dave L as it has bigger heavier duty ends and adjustable length so you can center the relay and idler to straight ahead with the tierods whlie setting toe, and then get the box on high point (steering wheel straight) with the adjustable drag link. All Daves products are true crafted pieces. The GM drag link should have been the heavier type Dave sells judging by how many are worn.
