I did not say who won because they would not tell us. Very complicated timing arrangement and they tell us today. Figure that one out.
Dan
PS,
Ken is still upset that I posted the picture of him and the dogs with their tails facing the camera. Laughing

It has nothing to do with the timing computer system. The system immediately knows who won. We keep that secret until the Membership Meeting today when awards will be made to the winners.

That's right. Pinewood Derby is a registered trademark of the Boy Scouts of America and is the name of the Cub Scout races.

Dan,

IIRC announcing the winners is part of "closing ceremonies!"

Goes to show what Ken's dogs think about having their photos taken!

Rob M.

The winner was Laurie Burton. Ken Burton was second to his wife but first place in men's catagory. Laurie shared her secrets and my wife Teri was second in ladies' races.

Dan,

I think you should demand the race officials re-inspect the winning GMC's.
A lot can happen before they go to the track! (lol)

Tom, no excuse for you not showing up at next convention, end of March. Jim has the pinebox cars, get one. I was told today that I will be a trainee on the timing at Shawnee. I will do my best. It is just crazy how much fun folks have with these things. I do believe some of them have their Boyscout grandsons helping them build these cars. There will be a special category for "best of show" at Shawnee. I hope the pictures I shot depicted what some of these things look like. We have some gifted folks building some of these rides.
Anyway, I must run. We are serving ice cream shortly.
Oh, Chuck Boyd spent all day changing out my steering column, with help of others. My dash is highly modified and he got into a real rat's nest, but he got it done. Now I can get the electric wipers from Ken and hook them up.
Dan
