So now I gotta ask: which side should the flat end face, the master cylinder, or the brake booster???
thanks,

> Jim is right on how critical the length is. When I installed my back disk breaks I manufactured a new rod. I made it as long as possible to get maximum volume out of master cylinder. It worked great for first year and then on a hot day climbing the cascades we started slowing down and finley came to a stop no matter how much throttle was applied. Had to crack the brake line nuts to relieve pressure so we could move. Pulled into next camp ground and disassembled brakes and found I had installed pin backwards and the difference in the flat end being in the master cylinder piston and the round end was enough to seal the relief ports when every thing expanded on a really hot day.

Karen,
The flat end faces the booster; the "round" end faces the master cylinder.
