Well we have made it to Bellingham Washington. We left on the 1st of
September and we were smooth sailing until Gila bend were we lost a
fuel line thank god there was a Napa auto parts in town problem
solved. Next we were filling up gas a day later and I noticed coolant
leaking out the front Damn thinking I just purchased a brand new
aluminum radiator, it just turned out to be the reservoir line. That
was the easiest fix. Finally we were cruising through the hills of the
southern Oregon coast and we got her pretty hot up some of these hills
and the fuel was evaporated prior to the carb, so to say the least we
were stuck on the side of the road for an hour or so. We then filled
it with premium gas ( a recommendation of a friend of mine) which
seemed to help quite a bit. Then the last straw was after fixing the
radiator hose fix we made it maybe 30-40 miles the girls were driving
through the mountains and the alternator belt was gone. We then jumped
it and drove it back to town were it was a holiday weekend nothing was
open and we had to remove all the other belts to replace it. Which we
found in a box of extra parts that were in or moving truck that I had
found in the GMC when we bought it. It still put us back a day but we
fixed it. So over all we got to see some beautiful country but we also
had some higher than normal stress levels. But WE MADE IT!!!!. Next up
a tranny rebuild a new final drive, and new intake and carb to beef up
the performance. Does anyone know if it is possible to turbo charge a
455? Just a thought.

Sounds like you're having a BLAST John.......you're building great GMC memories
that you'll talk about for a long long time.
Just pick away at these items and you'll soon have a coach that will give you
minimal problems that you will enjoy for years to come !
We've been there and now we laugh about those days. AND any issues we have
these days !
