Does anyone have a link for the front wheel bearing greasing tool instructions that Applied sells? It allows you to grease the front bearings without removing the hubs? Saw it somwhere but I"ve slept since then..

Lynn,
Does this help?

By the way when I spoke to Chuck about this tool he noted that it should NOT be used until after the assembly had been disassembled,
cleaned, and inspected to make sure everything was in good shape!

Thanks Robert, thats the one. I have replaced my bearings and one hub and don"t want to pull the knuckles anymore if I can help it.. Even 2 or 3 pumps of grease will probably be enough to keep those bearings running great..

Just be darned sure the entire area around and above the greaser mounting
area is spotlessly clean. One grain of dirt can ensure that
you WILL pull the bearings again.

I purchased the tool from Jim and it looks simple enough. It should be a time saver. I agree with you on the dirt but also know from my experience as a vibration technician that mill that a tapered roller bearing is a lot more tolerant to dirt than a roller bearing is.
We used to have to moniter the vibration frequency and watch for a tell tale blip. It helped to keep from overgreasing some awfully large roller bearings andd keep from galling them. Mobile oil has done a lot of research on this subject as they provided a lot of high temp. specialty synthetics to the plant.
