Does anyone have a link to Dave Lenzi's "new" wheel bearing R&R procedure?
I can't find my notes and I can't remember all of the details -- despite
having given at least one demonstration of it at a rally.
I've promised to forward the information to someone and now can't. :-(

No, I'm looking for Dave's front wheel bearing replacement technique -- the
"inside-out" one, where you install the bearings into the knuckle first
rather than mounting them on the hub. I've seen his presentation of it at
two rallies, and I've done it; but, I've slept so many times since then that
I wouldn't dare tell anyone how to do it without a written refresher. Dave
gives a great presentation, and his graphic handouts are good; but, he
doesn't do detailed printed instructions. We need a stenographer in his
lectures. :-)

Close. I'd also forgotten that those instructions are in there. I've got
Darren's tool & keep those instructions with it. But as Dave does it, you
need only a couple of big washers, a threaded rod, and nuts to pull it all
together. I don't think Dave ever mentioned heating the knuckle and
chilling the bearings -- would certainly help with a tight fit, though.
Thanks, that will help me figure it out, at least.

I know, I know
but with Duane gone, I think of what we are missing, from the files,
Even though we have him on tape, and he wrote all of the Onan stuff,
what a loss. (who else loved Onan's ?)
The stuff that DickP and Lenzi do, get to .001 percent of the GMC
folks, and maybe a 50 or so of the 400 folks here on-line, while the
other 7,000 other owners, never know.
what a waste of talent and information
we ,here, on line, and at rallys, think we are the center of the
earth for GMC information. But we are a very small set of the total.

I asked Dave about this last summer when I redid mine to include the Zirk on knuckle, and he said that he had not published it on line. I do have some pics and a general description that he sent me. If you are interested, I can try to dig them up....?? My memory is like yours....to many sleeps.

Fred,
Larry and I will try at Goshen to persuade Dave to let Larry post them.
Some folks are reluctant to broadcast their material because of the
controversy that so often ensues. And liability concerns. And modesty.
And...

Dave will not be posting the material anytime soon as it is only
available on his computer and he has not been able to copy the
presentation intact off his computer to a disk. It is sort of a
powerpoint presentation and Druber has spent several week attempting
to put it in a presentation format to be able to publish, but no
luck. I will see Dave at the Ludington rally just after the GMCMI
rally and I will try to copy the entire presentation on to my Mac and
see if I can attack it from the Mac powerpoint.

As I sit here in front of my computer, rehabbing from some surgery that I
had this week, I am in a position to volunteer my time and resources to help
turn this presentation into a distributable pdf file.
Please let me know if I can help.

On my Powerpoint presentation of my in-tank fuel pumps, I was able to easily
"print" it to a PDF file using my Mac Powerbook.
Of course it has the built in ability to print to PDF so it was simple to
do.

on my PC with any document on screen i can click "file/print". i get my printer setup box. there is a drop down menu to select which printer and in that list it shows "print to PDF". this will save the document as a PDF file.
