Duane Simmons, Mr. Onan, Passed this afternoon from an apparent blood clot. He was recovering well from his nerve affliction.
Duane was a close friend of mine and a great asset to the GMC community.
Pleas give the family time to absorb this sudden passing.

Frank,

Duane was, as we say Downunder; a "fair dinkum" bloke!

I met him at my first GMCMI Rally in Santa Rosa.

He spent all kinds of time on the phone with me to help me solve a problem with the Onan on Double Trouble.

He will be sorely missed!

Regards,
Rob M.

Sad indeed. I'm shocked as I just spoke with him recently and he sounded
more like his old self. He and Billie were looking forward to making the
rallies again.

Glad I got to be with him at Pueblo a couple a years ago.

I'll miss Duane. He was a good friend.

One of the best epitaphs I've ever read was approximately: "From the lovely
necklace of life, the shining jewels slowly drop away". It seems especially
applicable to Duane.

I'm very sorry to hear this sad news. This is another great loss to the GMC family. My condolences to Duane's survivors. I'm glad I had the privilege of meeting him at Pueblo a few years ago.

Sorry to hear of this loss. How much more common will it become that we grab the phone to ask a question and then catch ourselves...

We all need to listen closely to what these guys teach us. You never know, we might be the next number down someone's list who needs help.

Terrible news indeed ! I just got a board back from him and was thinking I
had better let him know that all was well with it. I guess he knows

Frank, It was with great difficulty that I opened this thread. I had both
personal and professional contact with Duane. I am saddened beyond the
ability to express all of our loss. The GMC community has suffered a severe
blow. Please express my greatest condolences to Duane's family also.

Going through the five hundred emails I didn't read due to Irene, this was shockingly sad. Duane was most kind to me on the phone and emails.

I have known Duane for about 10years. He was always very personable and willing to help anyone who had a need. The first time we met he helped me get my Onan straightened out. Then when I restored the Kingsley he was right in the middle of helping me get my 2 new holding tanks. He was right there watching to make sure all the fittings I needed were spun into the tanks, in the right places. I know I am going to miss him.
