Helllo all,
Thinking of updating the windows in the 77 motorhome.
There are some t style windows available i believe for around $1,500. If anyone has these please share your experiences on these and any problems installing them.

We sell the T-slider windows. The price is $1558.00 for six side windows. We have had them installed in our coach and selling them for over 15 years and have never had a leak in them. The sealant and correct installation is critical for a good leak proof installlation. The glass in the windows is tinted a gray color with 31% light transmission. They are cooler in the sun. We also sell butyl rubber tape for the sealing compound. It comes in 25 foot rolls and takes 3 rolls to do the 6 windows. They also take about 150 pounds off the coach weight. We provide installation instructions for installing the windows. They are not difficult to install but do require 2 people to do it since someone has to hold the window in place while the inside clamps are installed. If you like, send me your email address and I can send you some pictures of the windows installed in the coaches and a price list.There are 12 warehouses over the country that we can ship from to keep shipping costs low.

I upgraded my windows to the T-slider ones that I purchased at the Amana Rallye. Great windows, and a nice change from the original ones. Mine had bubbling tint on them, needed to be resealed, and needed several missing window locks.
By the time I would have resealed the original windows and had them tinted again, I figured that I had saved a ton of time (and possibly money). Running my Fantastic ceiling fans with the slider open on the window where you're sitting gives you a very nice breeze when it's warm enough, but you don't want to run the AC.
I've not had any experiences with them open in the rain, so I can't comment on that. The other option is the frameless window design, but that was quite a lot more money.
Installation was very easy, and the instructions provided made it easy. I did have my interior out, so it was an easy installation. My wife helped, and the only change I would make is to get some longer sheetmetal screws to make it easier to "catch" the lower edges when first installing. A nice warm day also helps to keep the sealing ribbons pliable.

I've had the Motorhome Enhancements (Gene Dotson & Jim Buchanan) windows
installed since 1999, with never a leak to my name. If I had a complaint,
it would be that on that day in the Spring, and the one in the Fall when the
temperature's right, the old windows would allow more breeze through the
coach. As it its, I just run the A/C or the heater.
Try it, you'll like it.

They don't have a rear window replacement that I'm aware of, but I understand that the window is available through some supplier(though I'm not sure if it is laminated or tempered glass).
Hopefully someone can chime in with current information.

I discovered when handling the windows, the Harbor Freight double suction cup handle will allow you to very easily manage the window. Less than $10. Worth every penny.

Fasten the new windows loosely at first, then tighten from the top and down the sides, one screw at a time. The fasteners are #8 sheet metal screws, and you may want to have a few that are different sizes, to allow for small variances in fit. Do not use power tools to tighten the screws, you are turning into aluminum framing.

Dan,
The reason for that is the glass is thinner, it's actually a flat glass "van" window they have bent the frames which makes the thin glass "bend". Look at the large window from the side, you will see it dips in at the middle. Proof positive that you can "bend" glass. The "frameless" new windows and the original windows use a thicker, curved and tempers glass, with heavy duty curved frames. no way to bend them so they are made to properly fit.
