Inflation is really running rampant, but I'm trying to stay ahead. Y'All
will definitely be VERY impressed with my GMC after I receive this:

Let's see, Where can we hold the next Henderson sponsored rally. I'm thinking Ken could charter a C5A or a fleet of C-130's to get us all there.

With 1.8 billion dollars, why would one want to go to Vegas? To win more? Just use it to buy every GMC that exists, and store them, and maintain them. You would still have extra money. 7000 GMC's x $12,000 each = $84 million. Another 16 million for the storage building and you are still a long ways from 1.8 billion.

Gosh! I just can never get over how helpful my GMC friends are! Without
your help, under their new rules, I'd wind up paying the bank for holding

I got one off-net email suggesting Dayton, Ohio. Why? Supposedly Ken will know.
I like the Sydney idea but, those backwards traffic circles in Sydney drive me nuts. I would like Cairns better.
How about the middle of the desert at Ayers Rock?
I've never been on the west coast. What is over at Perth or up north at Darwin?

SOMEWHERE I've got a photo of my 40' Safari at the Safari factory repair
facility in Tampa, where we spent the night before our appointment. Behind
the Safari was the GMC, with a tow bar between the two.
The incoming employees were quite impressed. :-)
Until they found the tow bar wasn't connected to anything.

Ken,
When I was a member of HOG Hong Kong we organized a tour in Australia. We shipped our bikes to Perth and then rode:
Perth - Kalgoorlie
Kalgoorlie - Esperance
Esperance - Albany
Albany - Margaret River
Margaret River - Perth
2111km (1311mi) Great tour!
Helen and I headed to Uluru (Ayers Rock) back in 2005 for the HOG National Rally. The tour plan was:
Sydney - Gold Coast
Gold Coast - Mt Isa
Mt Isa - Tennant Creek
Tennant Creek - Alice Springs (Uluru)
Alice Springs - Coober Pedy
Coober Pedy - Adelaide
Adelaide - Melbourne
Melbourne - Canberra
Canberra - Sydney
7,129km (4429mi)
Unfortunately I blew up the Harley in Alice Springs (failed roller on tappet) and we only made it that far, we flew home and the
Harley got shipped.
I haven't been to Darwin yet and it's been almost 30 years since I've been to Cairns. If I ever get The Blue Streak finished we'll
be able to report what it's like touring there!
Guess I need to get off my backside and down the workshop! ;-)

On every trip I have made to Australia we have made it a point to include Cairns in the itinerary. I have been to Sydney, Cairns, Melborne, Brisbane, and Canberra. I do not think we have ever made it out of New South Wales and Queensland.

After careful consideration, I've decided to take Rob up on his offer:
We'll have the Grand GMC Rally to Beat ALL Rallies in Sydney. Then we'll
take a 6 months (longer if necessary) tour, in convoy all around the
continent, hitting every significant attraction that Rob leads us to. We'll
have a Grand Finale back in Sydney afterward.
Each of you make your own transportation and other arrangements and keep all
your receipts so when you get back home you can forward them to my
benefactor for reimbursement.
Sounds fair to me. We probably should conduct a poll to determine the
starting date.

I'm in. Lets just circle the continent. There is nothing in the middle other than Ayres Rock and Alice Springs. Also there is not much for roads around the north half. I'll go any time you want.
I've never been to Tasmania. What is down there?
