Some of the new Schumacher "Smart" chargers have a desulphator built-in. You can't manually turn it on; The charger detects a need for it & does it automatically. The charge LED will blink to signal that desulphation is taking place. When desulphation is complete, the charge LED glows steady & it switches to normal charge. It switches to maintenance when charged. Mine is a Schumacher SC-600A SpeedCharger I bought at Wally World for around $40. It's brought back a battery that wouldn't hold a charge more than a week to full charge. I use it to keep the coach batteries fully charged.

I'll be very interested in your results, Matt. I just recv'd two envelops of
what appears to be crystals. I placed one solution consisting of one bag of
desulphator in 1 1/2 qts of warm distilled water in a friends golf car with
six 8V batteries that are on their last legs and one solution in my Mustang
golf car with six 6V batteries that are fairly recent vintage.

I'll be watching for your results and will report mine (if any...being the
eternal skeptic that I am) Dave

how about just buying new batteries, and be safe for another 5 years ;>)

then go fix something that needs to be fixed, to keep you on the road.

For over the road I might agree but golf car batteries come in sets of 6 and
8v go for about $550 out the door. More for Trojan T125's
