I think the longest gaps between exits are those that you find yourself on when the kids have to go to the bathroom - at least they seem like the longest!

Not a problem in the GMC however!

I made my kids suffer and never had to clean a seat.

The longest distance between exits is when the car isn't running right and the only thing you are sure of is that you can't fix it on the interstate.

Seems odd but I noticed they are mostly in the east. More important is how far it is between exits WITH services. Maybe they think that just because it is an "exit" there will be services.

I bet more of the longest "between services" are out west.

My wife and I, when we were still dating and living in FL, went to Disney for a weekend. On the way back, I missed the sign that said 48 miles to the next exit. I had about 50 miles worth of gas in my car at the time. Needless to say, I was not a happy driver by the time I limped into a gas station and filled the tank with way more gallons than the manufacturer said it should hold. My wife was laughing at my fretting until I decided it would be good policy to stretch some gas by turning off the AC and opening the windows on a baking July FL day. I don't think the other drivers on the Turnpike were very amused when I slowed down to 55 either for the last 30 miles. I wouldn't be surprised if I came awfully close to getting dumped at the end of that trip!

And the longest minutes are halfway between Florida and Grand Island when the engine goes to 'auto-rough' till you're within gliding distance.
