I just purchased a 26' glenbrook and am trying to remove te rear settee to
install a permenant bed with storage under. I removed the two large screws
the hold the frame inplace in front but I can't figgure out what is holding
it in place in the rear. Is it just a matter of brute force and ignorance
or a hidden release or just stuck.

On my 78 there was just a metal piece in the back that kept the bottom frame from lifting up. It just needed to be pulled toward the isle to release after removing the two screws on the front lip.

All that is holding the rear is a cleat. Once you remove the front two screws lift up on the front and pull the seat forward and it should come right out.
You might want to look below the seat with a flashlight and you should be able to see the cleat to see if a prior owner somehow blocked it or put in another screw or something.

Thanks
All I could see was the cleat, but was afraid to force it.
