This may have been discussed and I missed it. When I look for calipers for a 1996 Suburban Diesel 4x4 w/8600 GVW, there are a multitude of choices all with different part numbers. First off none list a 1 ton '96 Suburban. Others say that they all have the same calipers no matter which engine or model. The good loaded sets don't list 4x4 as an attribute. I just want to know a part number and source for a loaded Raybestos, Wagner, or some quality brand with carbon metallic pads. I don't buy strictly on price. I want a quality part, good service, and I don't like paying for a lot of unnecessary shipping if I can help it.

John;
Go to this link for Raybestos, on parts search, put these numbers in. RC11985 & RC11968
http://www.raybestos.com/wps/portal/raybestos
For Bendix, go to
http://www.bendixcatalog.com/Application.aspx?b=B and type in L55496M & L55497M in the parts search box.
For Wagner, under Federal Mogul, go to
http://fme-cat.com/ and in the parts search box, type in; for Quick stop, L116294 & L116295. For Severe Duty, put in S116294 & S116295. For ThermoQuiet, enter part # TQM25038 & TQM25039.
These are loaded calipers, you can get these unloaded and go to O'Reillys and get Perfomance Friction, # 0370.20 pads. Most O'Reillys have these on hand, most local police and emergency services use this pad.
How are you coming with the install?
Take care

John, Here is what I got from Rock Auto
1996 GMC K2500 SUBURBAN 6.5L 395cid V8 DIESEL MFI Turbo (F) OHV
RAYBESTOS RC11986 Caliper $ 57.79 $10.00 core charge total $ 67.79
RAYBESTOS RC11985 Caliper $ 57.79 $10.00 core charge total $ 67.79
These came with pads, bolts and sleeves and bolted right up to the knuckle
on the kit I got from Manny. They charge an extra 10.00 as you can see for a
core charge. Very fair I think. You can look this up in the Rock Auto online
site.
Thanks

John;
I left out the ACDelco numbers. They are 18FM741 & 742. These are the ones I used, have the better seal kit.
