Price is posted in the Swap section at $16,500. We hate to leave this bunch also. I'm just in a funky age where I have a couple of years left where I'll have to cover health insurance costs. Too young to retire, but too old to work!

You don't have to leave us, I sold my coach about 3 years ago and still am here bothering folks. Also sorry to hear of your work issues, hope you get it all resolved.

I'm on the other end of the spectrum and just getting into the GMC family
some way.. some how.. Right now my wife and I are homeless, taking a serious
hit financially on some property and a business deal that went south. So,
we're looking for a used coach that will become our home. Any advice on what
to look for? Wet bath? No wet bath? I found one used for $3000 in AZ, and
I'm quite handy.. but really, I'm open to advice and suggestions.

The real issue for us is money (of course, for everyone) and trying to get
back on our feet financially. I've got a great job that allows me to travel,
but I'm having trouble getting a loan. I guess what I'm asking for is a real
shot in the dark.. owner financing. Is that even possible in this day and
age?

I posted in the swap meet section a while back, my wife is the on getting
tired of friends spare bedrooms and such.

Generally owner financing requires a substantial downpayment. A GMC would be pretty small as a primary residence. Plus repairs can be pretty expensive.

I hope that an opportunity to return you to your previous lifestyle comes along quickly and that you can take it. I'm not so sure a GMC would be a quick path towards that, though, sadly.

Meanwhile...back on the topic.

Come on guys - over 500 hits and no offers! I guess I'm too high. Somebody make me an offer I can't refuse!

Seriously, this is a nice, good to go, ready to roll, attractive coach with new tires. Surely someone wants a "rolling" coach at a decent price.

The problem with over 500 hits on here is that the vast majority of us already OWN coaches. And while I know a few that seem to like two or more in their yard, I know more than a few spouses that draw the line at one.

I know from personal experience that there is always a buyer and a
seller....the trick is for the 2 to come together at the same time...BUT
they will, it just may take a little time...the question is, can you hold on
until the it happens!
I hope the answer is that you can!

Good luck

Thankfully I am not in a position where I have to sell. I'd like to in order to bolster our savings a bit, but in the scope of things, how long can you live on a few thousand dollars.

Mainly I'm looking at having to start over with vacation time. We already have a beach house which will occupy most of what little vacation I am likely to get.

I have said it before: "I would have made a wonderful rich person!"

In the meantime, I'll continue to tinker and make it better and better.

Stick, You can value unsolicited advice at what you paid for it, and I won't
be offended. But, if I were in a situation similar to yours, I would not be
too hasty to sell the GMC unless you are at the point where it comes to
feeding the wife and kids or being homeless vs owning the GMC. When viewed
from before, sometimes things look more grim than they turn out to be in
reality. You might find yourself in a position later on where you will be
kicking yourself for having gotten rid of it. I am in the unique position of
being to look back over much of my life, and I have some regrets over cars
that I let slip through my fingers. One in particular. A very low mileage
1956 Desoto Adventurer Golden edition. It had the Firedome Hemi, was black
and gold metallic and all the brightwork was gold anodized. It was the 50th
Anniversary Edition, which was why the gold trim. I could retire on what
that car is worth today. Been sorry that I passed on that one for over 40
years. The GMC does not fall into that catagory exactly, but Mary and I had
big plans for ours and there is a huge sentimental attatchment for me now
that she is gone. I would miss that almost as much as I miss her. But that
being said, it is, after all, only a material possesion and certainly not
the only one left in existence.
Tough choice but that is my 2 cents worth. Hope things get better for you
guys.

Lots of things have impact on any "necessity" to sell
ANY asset. Criticality of one's financial position is
a primary one. Do you owe on things? Do any of those
"things" lend themselves to simple downsizing? A
sentimental attachment is another and monetary value
is a hard thing for assigning monetary value. Do you
have other vehicles for which there is a good current
market instead of the GMC which definitely has a
limited market? Could you do without one or more of
those or replace with less expensive ones?

Personally, I am fortunate that I have made it to full
retirement and as long as the USA doesn't suffer a
catastrophic financial collapse, I should stay okay.
House and all vehicles are now paid off so I don't have
recurring fixed payments; only normal living (repair,
utilities, taxes, etc.) expensive. So far, I can still
spend some money on the GMC and our Harleys.

Please don't seek a permanent "solution" to what may
likely be a temporary situation.

Hindsight is always 20-20.  So I dont grieve over the ones I sold:

'59 and '60 Bugeye Austin Healy Sprites
'59 Sport Fury - engine swap to 383 long rams.
'68 Hemi Roadrunner 4-speed
'62 Polara 500 convertible with '61  HO' on the distributor boss
'57 Harley '74' hardtail
'68 BSA Victor Special with both tanks and both pipes.
60 (?) Dalesman Scout with the Sachs engine

I had fun with every one of them, and when each was sold, that was the move at the time.  If I worried over what they're worth today, I'd cry.
