Hello everyone,

I have received so much help from everyone on the site I am so
appreciative of all the help. My wife and I are moving up to the
northwest and have a very short time before we move. I have with all
of your assistance been able to make my way through some of the
restoration. Now we must move and I have no tie to learn as I go.
There is word that there is a John that lives in Tucson that is
knowledgeable of these beasts. If so Can anyone give me any info of
anyone living in Tucson or surrounding areas that would be able to do
some repairs? Please e-mail me back with any helpful info. Thanks
again.

John, here is the info:

Friedenberg Automotive
4531 Fairview Ave
Tucson,
520 293 0374

He pulled our engine, rebuilt it, and put it back in in about 10 days. Very good guy and reasonable on labor.
Not sure what kind of work you want done but he is an engine builder.

John,

I have a good friend who owns and runs a garage on the near North side of Tucson. His name is Ron Murphy, the business' name is Calypso Automotive, at 3419 E. Kleindale Rd. Their phone number is ((520) 326-5358. They have done some work on my coach, so they know something about GMCs, but more importantly, they are very familiar with old school vehicles, as well as newer cars. Their labor rates are on the high side, but they do honest work with an emphasis on quality. They can handle any type of general repairs, including engine and transmission work (some of which they may farm our)

As an added bonus, they are RV-ers and know and understand the complexity of RVs. I don't know if they would be able to fit you in, especially if you you are under a tight schedule, but I can't recommend them any more highly.

G'day,

Don't forget Bdub has this posted on his website:

http://www.bdub.net/GMCServiceComments.pdf

I just checked and found that Carl's recommendation is not on the list.

I suggest it be added.
