any one have knowledge of installing a 4.8 generac gen set in place of the old 6 onan, can one use the old remote, will a batt fit in the same space, how much metal do you have to remove,any advice would be appreciated. Homer

Miguel Mendez! He was a great help when I installed my Generac generator. If you have a 26 footer, it is really not that big of a deal. Once you get the Onan out of there, you can do some simple measurements of the compartment.

I did have to trim a bit off the outer frame rail when I installed the Generac to get the bottom pan to fit, but everything else fit fine. I did make two small brackets to further steady the generator, and they bolt to the frame rails where the old Onan power drawer attached.

All the connections are on the outside edge, so it's easy to service as well. I've been very happy with mine so far. if I can be of more help, feel free to PM me.

Homer, I still run the Onan. But, I did watch Miguel install one of the Genracs. He made it look fairly easy. But, he has installed several.
